Pope Francis has convoked a synod entitled “For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission.” It will begin in each diocese on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Pope Francis is inviting the entire Church to embark on a shared journey of renewal as inspired by the Holy Spirit. This path will lead toward the sixteenth Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in October 2023 in Rome.

Bishop Bergie has prepared a pastoral letter on this upcoming Synod as it will unfold in the diocese of Saint Catharines.
